Jamshedpur is home to the first private Iron and Steel company of India.   The beautiful Dalma Hills, and the rivers Subarnrekha and Kharkhai border surround Jamshedpur. Art and Culture
It invites country’s leading artists to come together to create individual works of art in the steel city of Jamshedpur. Places to Visit  

Jubilee Park: It is a lush Green Park at the heart of the city dotted with flowerbeds and illuminated fountains inspired in part by the Brindaban Gardens at Mysore. The captivating Rose Garden offers for viewing over 1000 varieties of roses. Kids can have a ball of time at Jubilee Amusement Park provided with swings, seesaw, skating rink windmill etc.

Tata Steel Zoological Park: A variety of flora and fauna exists It is a treat for nature lovers. Migratory Birds visiting every year during winters is equally enchanting for all the bird lovers. The park also has a beautiful lake, a boathouse and “Machaan Restaurant” Jayanti Sarowar. The sarovar is specially dredged and deepened for boating. There is an island at the center of the lake, which adds immense beauty to the lake.

Sir Dorabji Tata Park:
Manicured Lawns and flowerbeds and brilliantly lit fountains provide a delightful touch of color to the park, The Park is situated in the center of the city close to the Keenan Stadium.

River’s Meet: Popularly known, as “Domohani” is the scenic confluence of the Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers. Watching the glorious brazen sunset by the “sangam” of two rivers amidst the tall Eucalyptus trees is extremely enchanting.

Hudco Lake: The lake is a delightful retreat for those desirous of being in-nature within the city precincts. One can feast his eyes with the panoramic view of Steel Industry and equally appealing sight of Tata Engineering, Lafarge Cement and Tata Powers from the hilltop.

Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary: Lurking in the thick cover of its jungle (193 sq. km.) are elephants, barking deer, sloth beer, porcupines, leopard, tigers etc. The steep slope of Dalma is a trekker’s delight. Small hideouts have been made at several places in the sanctuary where one can see wilds animals in their natural habitat. Dalma provides natural air condition to the fuming steel city and is an important source of fresh oxygen to the citizens There is also a temple of Hindu diety Shiva on the mountaintop and the devotees throng to it during “Shivaratri”.

Dimna Lake: Located at a distance of 13 km from the city limits, at the foot of Dalma Hills, its salubrious surrounding is ideal for outing. People from all across the region come here during December-January for picnic. Tata Steel has constructed this lake as a water reservoir for its plant and the city.

Jamshedpur doesn’t have a lot of sky-high malls, but it has its share of decent markets and local bazaars, which sell all the latest international brands. You can buy the local woodwork and bamboo work handicrafts Jamshedpur India in this respect is very developed and you will find right from foods served in stalls to most of the international cuisines being served in restaurants. Do try the Pua or Sattu whenever you are in the city.

At the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation where visitors can do heart pumping activities like para-sailing, rock climbing, kayaking and many more. The Tata Zoological Park, is a nice place if traveling with kids, where apart from the majestic animals there are lots of things to be offered.
How to Reach:
Air: There is an airport at Sonari, which is largely used by corporates. The closest commercial airports are Ranchi (131 km) and Kolkata (250 km).

Rail: Jamshedpur is an important railway junction on the South Eastern Railway and is connected directly to all the major cities of India, viz., Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar etc. The Railway station is known as Tatanagar.

Road: Jamshedpur is connected by road with most of the major cities in India. National Highway 33 touches the city and joins the NH2, which connects Kolkata with Delhi.

Moving around within the city: Transportation is cheap and easily available.
